The alternate version was put on later pressings of the album with the full intro, reworked chorus and outro. Cuomo stated in an interview during the band's 2005 performance at the AOL Sessions as saying "Well, if these ten thousand people think it should go this way, maybe we should go back and re-record it." When touring in summer 2005, when the band prompted the crowd to sing along, they oddly enough sang it in the other way Cuomo had written it (different from the record version). The reworked chorus that appears in the radio edit was one of two ways Cuomo originally wrote the song. The radio edit is eight seconds shorter than the album version. In 2013, Weezer has 9.2 million albums sold in the United States, and more than 17 million sold internationally. The radio edit of this song features a shortened intro, a synth track on the first and second chorus (the album version only has it on the second chorus), a reworked "oh-oh" chorus and the added backup vocals of "perfect situation" over the outro. After the release of the album, Welsh left the group and was replaced by bassist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Scott Shriner in 2002. With a more pop sound, and thanks to the singles Hash Pipe and Island in the Sun, the album is a commercial success. In 2001, Weezer released another album titled Weezer, also known as the Green Album, with a new bassist, Mikey Welsh.

The blue album and Pinkerton are frequently cited among the best albums of the 1990s. Their second album, Pinkerton (1996), is characterized by a darker musical style, but is, compared to its predecessor, a commercial failure. The album follows music clips of Buddy Holly's songs, Undone - The Sweater Song and Say It Ain 't So. His style is between alternative rock and power pop.Īfter the band's signing at Geffen Records in 1993, they released their first album, Weezer (also called the blue album), in 1994.

His best-known titles are Undone - The Sweater Song, Holly Buddy, Hash Pipe, Island in the Sun, Beverly Hills, Pork and Beans and Perfect Situation.

The group is currently composed of three of its founding members: singer and guitarist Rivers Cuomo, drummer, guitarist and backing vocals Patrick Wilson and keyboardist, guitarist and backing vocalist Brian Bell.

Weezer is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California.
